My Artifacts
3rd Grade Sneak Peak Night
I led the 3rd Grade Parent Night and Curriculum Night for the incoming third grade parents. I facilitated, created, and presented with other third grade teachers. I discussed curriculum and essential standards for the year. Then, I presented the information to the parents to build a positive relationship with the incoming third grade families. I took ideas and concerns from the parents and provided them with resources and relief for the upcoming school year. I was able to create a sense of community between the parents, students, and teachers before the school year began. Also, I introduced a technology application that allowed easy communication for the parents. I notified parents that this app would allow them to message teachers, see behavior reports, and keep track of their student's good behavior reward points.
I created an action plan to implement at my school to address diversity and inclusion within the school building. I suggested changes to the curriculum to benefit students with different backgrounds. I discussed professional development with my mentor and wanted to implement more diversity cultural inclusion training to teachers. I assisted in helping other teachers understand their own identities so that they are able to create better relationships with the students in their diverse classrooms.
